About Al-Sharifu Charity Organization
Serving Allah (SWT) through compassionate humanitarian work across East Africa, guided by the principles of Islam and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Our Mission
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety" - Quran 5:2
To serve Allah (SWT) by providing compassionate humanitarian aid, education, and sustainable development to underserved Muslim communities across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. We strive to uphold the highest Islamic values while addressing the physical, spiritual, and educational needs of those we serve.
Our mission is rooted in the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, following the example of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in caring for orphans, feeding the hungry, and supporting those in need.
Our Vision
"Whoever saves a life, it is as if he has saved all of mankind" - Quran 5:32
To create thriving, self-sufficient Muslim communities across East Africa where every individual has access to quality Islamic education, healthcare, clean water, and economic opportunities, while maintaining strong connections to their faith and cultural heritage.
We envision a future where poverty, illiteracy, and preventable diseases are eliminated from our communities through sustainable, community-driven development programs guided by Islamic principles.
Our Story
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Founded on Faith and Compassion
Al-Sharifu Charity Organization was founded in 2012 by a group of dedicated Muslims who witnessed the struggles of their brothers and sisters across East Africa. Inspired by the Islamic principles of charity (Zakat), voluntary giving (Sadaqah), and community support (Ummah), they came together with a simple yet powerful vision: to serve Allah by serving His creation.
Our founders, led by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sharif (may Allah bless him), started with humble beginnings - distributing food during Ramadan to local families in Nairobi. Word of their sincere efforts spread, and soon Muslims from across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania began supporting their work.
The name "Al-Sharifu" means "The Noble" in Arabic, reflecting our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and Islamic ethics in all our humanitarian work.
